Statistics to Know How Your Performing on Different Social Platforms
Social Blade is a website that provides statistics to help you keep track of your growth across different social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram and Twitch.
To come up with tracking data, Social Blade pulls information from the public API of particular social media platforms. The information accessed is publicly available but Social Blade ensures data across several days are aggregated and presented in a usable format. The website also calculates estimated earnings and provides “SB rank”. Estimated earnings are calculated accounting CPM values and the total views a particular social media channel receives per day. It assumes monetisation of each view. The number arrived at has to be looked at as an overview of what the likely earnings could be. The estimated earnings are updated regularly to reflect on current trends and occurrences.
In the beginning, Social Blade used to come up with its rankings depending on the total number of views and subscribers a channel had on a specific platform such as YouTube. It later realised the popularity meter on YouTube doesn’t work that way and just views and subscriber count aren’t good enough indicators. There are chances a channel acquired millions of subscribers inorganically or hoodwinked itself to the position. Therefore, SB measures the influence of a channel considering multiple metrics, of which ‘average view counts’ is a part. Channels with an “A” SB ranking are considered influential.
